Wild Pomelo Blossoms from Pinghe
This product is not tea, but wild pomelo blossoms collected from an abandoned pomelo orchard in the mountains of Pinghe County, Fujian Province. The orchard, untouched for over 20 years, has since become overgrown with forest, allowing pomelo trees to grow naturally without fertilizers or human interference. These conditions make the blossoms exceptionally clean and pure—something nearly impossible to find on commercial plantations.
Collecting pomelo flowers is highly uncommon, as each blossom potentially reduces the yield of pomelo fruit. Very few growers are willing to sacrifice fruit for flowers, especially from unmanaged groves. This year, a small team harvested just 4 kilograms of blossoms—making this a rare and highly seasonal product.
The flowers are sun-dried to preserve their delicate aroma, which is sweet, floral, and citrusy. They can be brewed on their own as a calming and aromatic herbal tea, or used to blend with other teas—especially red tea or oolong—to enhance the fragrance and add a refreshing floral layer.
To brew solo, use 1–2 grams of blossoms in a glass or gaiwan with water at 90–95°C. Steep for 1–2 minutes. When blending, add a pinch to your chosen tea before brewing.
