Yiwu Ripe Pu-erh Tea (Spring 2018)

Yiwu Ripe Pu-erh Tea originates from Yiwu Town in Menghai County, Yunnan Province, an area known for its tropical rainforest climate. Located at an altitude of 1200–1500 meters, the region’s abundant rainfall, fertile soil, and mist-shrouded mountains provide ideal growing conditions for the Yunnan Da Ye Zhong tea variety.

This tea was harvested in April 2018 (April 1–30) and fermented between October 3 and November 10, 2018. The leaves are hand-picked, with one bud and three leaves selected to maintain consistency and quality. Traditional processing methods—pan-firing, rolling, sun-drying, and fermentation—produce tightly curled leaves with a smooth, glossy appearance.

When brewed, the tea yields a vibrant red-amber infusion with a soft, smooth texture. The flavor profile is balanced, with mild sweetness, light bitterness, and layers of complexity that develop over multiple infusions. Aromatic notes of aged wood, honey, and floral undertones contribute to its character, leaving a long-lasting and pleasant finish.

For brewing, use 8–10 grams of tea per 150ml teapot, and water heated to 95–100°C. A quick rinse is recommended to awaken the leaves, followed by an initial steeping of 5–10 seconds. Subsequent infusions can be slightly longer to fully extract the tea’s flavors.

Rich in polyphenols, amino acids, and antioxidants, Yiwu Ripe Pu-erh Tea supports digestion, aids metabolism, and provides a soothing tea-drinking experience.
