Honey Orchid Fragrance Oolong, old trees (up to 200 years old)
Milanxiang Dancong is one of the top ten precious and famous Fenghuang Dancong oolong varieties; its mother tree has a history of almost 300 years. The history of the name refers to the strong “honey flavor” and orchid fragrance of this tea. Milanxiang “Laocong” (old tree) has a unique “mountain charm” because of the material from the old trees. The tea soup is mellow, with a strong honey fragrance.
The orchid fragrance is quiet and elegant. The aftertaste is long-lasting, and the fragrance lingers in the mouth after swallowing. It is a highly respected tea variety in Chaoshan (Guangdong province) tea culture, carrying the local long-standing tea drinking tradition and cultural connotation.
These tea trees are grown in wild gardens at an altitude of 650–800 meters. No fertilizers or pesticides are used. The tea is hand-picked, with a plucking standard of 1 bud and 3 leaves, produced each year in March.
The production process includes multiple complex steps such as sun drying, air drying, making green, killing green, rolling, and drying. The “green-making” step is particularly critical. Through actions such as touching and shaking, the tea leaves are semi-fermented until they develop their unique aroma.
