Repairing pottery with a contemporary twist.
You will create your own work of art by restoring a cup from the Moychay collection using the traditional Kintsugi technique.
Unlike conventional modern Kintsugi methods that use only artificial glue, we incorporate authentic Urushi (Japanese lacquer) made from 100% natural materials and traditional techniques, providing an authentic taste of the craft. You will also learn the history of Kintsugi, the Wabi-Sabi philosophy, and sustainable materials such as Urushi. Our workshop provides the authenticity of Kintsugi combined with tea culture (Chano-yu). You will leave satisfied with both the experience of real Kintsugi and the stunning final product of your Kintsugi pottery from the workshop.
Additionally, this modern Kintsugi method is also food safe.
Step 1: Gluing with artificial glue
Step 2: Filling the gap with natural filling (Urushi)
Step 3: Painting with Red Urushi

Completed!Imagine drinking beautiful green tea from Moychay with your one-of-a-kind Kintsugi pottery.
Your Wabi-Sabi moment is waiting for you.
