Liping Red Tea

Liping Red Tea hails from Liping County, Guizhou Province, a region with a tea-growing history dating back to the Han Dynasty. Praised as an exceptional tea area by the “Tea Sage” Lu Yu during the Tang and Song Dynasties, this tea became an imperial tribute during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Its name reflects its origin and embodies the unique charm of the local terroir, offering tea with an oily luster, rich aroma, and mellow taste.

Cultivated at altitudes of 500–800 meters, Liping Red Tea is made from the “Golden Bud” tea cultivar. The spring harvest (mid-April to mid-May) yields hand-picked tea, following the traditional plucking standard of one bud with one or two leaves. The leaves undergo a carefully orchestrated process of withering, rolling, fermentation, and drying, resulting in tightly curled strips with a golden-brown sheen.

This tea brews into a bright infusion with a robust and refreshing flavor, featuring distinct fruity and floral notes. Its sweet and mellow taste leaves a lasting impression, making it ideal for multiple infusions—up to 7 or 8 times.

Rich in tea polyphenols, catechins, and amino acids, Liping Red Tea supports digestion, boosts metabolism, and provides antioxidants. Brewed with water at around 90°C, this tea is perfect for a refined and healthful experience.
