The Xi Shi teapot presents a rounded, low body with a close-fitting lid, loop handle and compact spout. Its broad belly offers a stable brewing chamber, while the raised dragon and phoenix relief gives a gongfu table a strong decorative focal point.

Xi Shi is a traditional Yixing form, named for its full, rounded silhouette and associated with the classical repertoire of zisha teapots. Such pots are used for gongfu brewing, where the lid is held in place while tea is poured in short, controlled movements.

Yixing, in Jiangsu, is known for zisha pottery made from naturally coloured clay, here showing a warm yellow-brown body and crisp carved detail. Rinse the pot after use, remove the lid and let every part air-dry fully before storage.
