Chaban, meaning tea tray, is a practical part of gongfu service, supporting the teapot, cups, and rinsing vessel as tea is prepared in several short infusions. Reservoir designs conceal used water beneath the tray, allowing the table to remain neat during serving.
This tray is made in China from warm-toned wood, with dark decorative medallions, cloud-like cut-outs, and softly rounded edges. Pour out the reservoir after use, then wipe the lid and base dry before storing.
