Hanwa means Han tile, a name drawn from the roof-tile profile echoed by this flattened teapot shape. In Chinese tea tradition, such pots steep leaves before pouring into small cups, often as part of a gongfu tea arrangement.
Made in China, the teapot has a dark pottery surface with warm reddish-brown accents on the horses, inscription, and lid border. Rinse it with warm water after brewing, wipe away moisture, and keep the relief free from abrasive cleaners.
