Tea pets

Tea pets are small figurines or objects that are often used in Chinese tea culture. They are placed on the tea tray or table during tea ceremonies, and tea is poured over them, allowing the tea to be absorbed by the porous material of the figurine. Tea pets are believed to bring good luck, fortune, and positive energy to the tea ceremony.

Traditionally, tea pets are made from Yixing clay, a type of unglazed clay from the Yixing region of China. The porous nature of Yixing clay allows the tea to be absorbed, giving the tea pet a unique aroma over time. Some tea pets are also made from other materials such as jade, wood, and porcelain.

Tea pets come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, ranging from traditional animals such as dragons, lions, and frogs to modern characters and shapes. Some tea pets even have unique features such as a spout or a hole in the mouth that allows them to "spit" the tea.

Tea pets are more than just decorative objects; they are a symbol of the tea culture and an important part of the tea ceremony. They represent good luck, positive energy, and a connection to nature. Whether used for personal enjoyment or given as a gift, tea pets are a unique and meaningful addition to any tea lover's collection.
