GABA Golden Lily Dragon Tea (Jinxuan Jia Ye Long Cha)

Golden White Dragon, also known as GABA tea (佳叶龙茶), is a unique oolong tea enriched with γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Originating from Ping Shan Village, Datian County, Sanming, Fujian, this tea is crafted from the Jin Xuan cultivar introduced from Taiwan in 1995. It is processed using an oxygen-free fermentation method that dramatically increases its GABA content, a compound renowned for its calming and neuroprotective properties.

First studied in Japan in the 1950s, GABA tea became commercially available there in the late 1980s after clinical trials confirmed its ability to lower blood pressure and alleviate fatigue. The tea’s distinct processing method leads to the conversion of natural glutamic acid in the leaves into GABA and alanine. The result is a deeply nourishing tea with well-documented effects on cardiovascular and neurological health, improved sleep quality, and enhanced alcohol metabolism.

Golden White Dragon features tightly rolled, semi-ball-shaped leaves with a dark glossy sheen. Upon brewing, it reveals a rich red liquor with prominent fruity and honeyed aromas.
