Our GABA teas from Taiwan have returned !
GABA tea is not a flavor trend; it’s a production method. Through anaerobic (oxygen-free) fermentation, glutamic acid in the tea leaf is converted into GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), a neurotransmitter involved in regulating the nervous system.
Developed in Japan in the 1980s, this method is now applied across oolong, red, black, and even shu puer teas. What makes these teas truly interesting is how differently each terroir and processing style expresses GABA.
It’s no coincidence that GABA teas are among our bestsellers. Their steady popularity comes from consistency, depth, and the way they fit into everyday drinking as well as slower, more attentive sessions. The new restock is limited, and some batches are unlikely to return in the same form.
