"仿汉壶" literally means "imitative Han (dynasty) vessel" — a modern or later-piece made in the style of Han dynasty (206 BCE–220 CE) ewers and jars. If the exact historical prototype for this particular object is ambiguous, note that dedicated teapots as we know them were not common in the Han period; surviving Han examples are typically bronze or earthenware ewers, wine-pouring vessels, and storage jars rather than true tea kettles. Contemporary makers often adapt those ancient shapes into functional teapots.
Historical context: During the Han era, potters and bronzesmiths produced rounded, pear- or globular-bodied vessels with pronounced shoulders, narrow necks, and spouts for pouring liquids. Surfaces were sometimes incised or cast with geometric motifs, cloud and thunder patterns, or applied bands. Bronze ewers with loop handles and ceramic jars with low ring feet are characteristic forms that inspire later "仿汉" reproductions. Tea culture and the widespread use of small handled teapots developed much later (Tang–Song and beyond), so "仿汉壶" is best understood as a stylistic revival rather than a strict historical reproduction.
Note on shape: Expect a compact, rounded body, relatively short or upright spout, a fitted lid, and a simple loop or high-arched handle; finishes may imitate bronze patina or unglazed clay, depending on the maker.
