The exact origin of the Xishi form is not precisely documented, but it has long been associated with the Yixing (宜兴) teapot tradition of Jiangsu province and was widely appreciated and reproduced from the late Ming into the Qing dynasty. “仿古” indicates this example is made in an antique or revival style rather than being an original period piece.

Shape note: Xishi teapots are typically small and elegantly proportioned, with a smooth, rounded body, low profile, and a gently domed lid that fits closely.
