Blue Lotus - Rice Grain Cup # 95946

This porcelain tea cup combines a gently flared profile with a raised foot and pale blue lotus decoration. Its translucent rice-grain openings soften the white wall, while the broad rim makes everyday sipping comfortable.

Rice-grain porcelain, called linglong, uses tiny pierced openings sealed beneath glaze. The technique became especially associated with Jingdezhen porcelain, and this cup adapts that decorative tradition to the small vessel used in gongfu tea drinking.
