Qing Xin Da Mao is a traditional high-mountain oolong tea grown in the misty elevations of Fujian’s mountainous interior, particularly in Daqian and Dehua counties. The cultivar’s name combines “Qing Xin” (meaning “green heart”)—a reference to the leaf’s purity and vitality—with “Da Mao,” a Minnan dialect term meaning “broad and strong,” evoking the cultivar’s robust growth and thick, resilient leaves.

Legend has it that over a century ago, a tea master deep in the mountains discovered a unique tea tree with exceptional vitality and aromatic potential. The tea produced from it had a bright golden liquor, rich floral-fruity aroma with subtle honey undertones, and a soft, smooth mouthfeel. Since then, this cultivar has come to symbolize the strength of the mountains and the perseverance of Fujian tea masters.

The leaves are harvested by hand at elevations around 1100 meters, using the one bud, two leaves plucking standard. Processing follows the traditional oolong method: sun withering, bruising (yaoqing), cooling, kill-green (shaqing), rolling, primary drying, re-rolling, shaping, and final roasting. This slow and precise method preserves the cultivar’s deep fragrance and full body.

Qing Xin Da Mao Oolong brews to a golden liquor with a lingering orchid-like aroma and a balanced, slightly creamy taste. It is a powerful yet elegant tea, expressing the soul of highland oolong through its clean structure and satisfying finish.
