Gaiwan 96184 uses a wide, shallow bowl with a projecting rim and low raised foot. This open profile gives tea leaves room to expand and makes the lid easy to angle when pouring.

The gaiwan became established during the Ming period and remains central to Chinese tea preparation. The covered bowl brews tea directly, while the lid helps retain leaves as the infusion is transferred to cups or a fairness pitcher.

This Chinese wood-fired ceramic shows warm brown and plum tones, with subtle ash variation and darker edges around the foot and rim. The softly uneven surface reflects the kiln atmosphere. Rinse gently, dry fully, and store the pieces separately.
