Jade Porcelain Gaiwan # 96008

This gaiwan combines a broad lipped bowl with a raised lid knob and a matching saucer. The projecting rim helps guide a controlled pour, while the lid can hold leaves back during brewing and support quick aroma evaluation.

The gaiwan, literally "lidded bowl," developed as a Chinese tea vessel and is associated with Ming-era tea practice. Used at the table, it can brew leaves directly, with the lid controlling the pour, or decant tea into cups for sharing.

This porcelain gaiwan is made in China, with a creamy jade-like glaze, softly rounded walls and a smooth saucer that steadies the bowl. The light colour reveals infusion shades clearly. Rinse after use and dry the lid and bowl separately.
