Gourd Master Cup - Purple # 95986

The hulu zhurenbei has a distinct waist, a gently flared rim, and a compact foot. Its shaped middle offers a secure grip, while the generous opening lets the drinker enjoy the aroma and texture of a freshly poured tea.

Zhurenbei means master cup and is part of the contemporary gongfu tea vocabulary. During a tea session, it is commonly kept for the host, creating a personal drinking vessel beside the cups shared with guests.

Made in China from ceramic, it has a softly mottled purple glaze fading into an ivory lower body. The subtle colour transition keeps the form central; rinse away tea residue and dry it fully after use.
