This tea comes from the Qing Xin Da Mao cultivar — a high-mountain variety of Taiwanese origin, brought to Fujian in the late 1990s through joint work between tea masters from both sides of the strait.
The name Qing Xin Da Mao combines “Qing Xin” (green heart), describing the purity and tenderness of the leaf, with “Da Mao”, a local Minnan term meaning broad and strong, referring to the generous shape of the leaves and their soft down.

The style Dong Fang Mei Ren — Oriental Beauty — has its own legend. Over a century ago, a British tea merchant presented this unusually aromatic tea to Queen Victoria. The leaf’s five colors and its honey-fruity scent impressed her so much that she called it “Oriental Beauty.” The name remained, becoming a symbol of elegance among oolong teas.

Harvested once a year around the Dragon Boat Festival, this limited tea grows at about 1,100 meters in Fujian’s clean mountain air. Small green leafhoppers (Jacobiasca formosana) bite the young leaves, beginning a light natural oxidation that later deepens through slow hand-processing — sun-withering, gentle shaking, and gradual firing.

The infusion is clear amber, smooth and aromatic, with quiet notes of honey, fruit, and summer grass. It reflects the mountain air and the patient craft of those who shaped it.
